Resume Strategy (Skills-first)
A strong resume is a marketing document, not a biography. We’ll build a skills-first structure that’s ATS-friendly and easy for humans to scan.
Key concepts
- Lead with a clear headline and summary tailored to the role.
- Use measurable impact bullets (what you did + outcome).
- Mirror key terms from job postings without keyword stuffing.
Practice Exercise
Pick one job posting. Copy only the top 6 requirements (not the whole post). Identify the 6 matching skills you already have.
Template (copy/paste)
ROLE: You are my resume strategist. TASK: Turn my experience into an ATS-friendly skills-first resume outline. INPUTS: Target role, 6 requirements, my experience. OUTPUT: Summary + skills section + 8 bullet rewrites. CONSTRAINTS: Honest; quantify only when true.
Ethics & accuracy: do not paste sensitive personal info (SSN, full DOB, account numbers). Verify facts before sending applications.
